Description
Heavy forklifts carry heavy loads. Their chargers need to match.
The MX-7280L is designed for high-voltage industrial operations where conventional chargers fall short — port terminals handling 10-tonne loads, steel mills running three shifts, cold-chain distribution centers where a dead forklift halts an entire line.
At 72V or 80V with up to 150A output, it delivers a full charge to large-capacity battery packs in a single shift window. Intelligent BMS communication ensures every cell is treated precisely, protecting battery packs that cost tens of thousands of dollars to replace. The IP65-sealed enclosure handles salt air, wash-down zones, and outdoor freight yards without compromise.
For operations where reliability is non-negotiable, the MX-7280L is the answer.
Product Features
1. High-Voltage, High-Current Output Delivers up to 150A at 72V or 80V — enough to fully recharge battery packs up to 800Ah within a standard 8-hour shift. For two-shift or three-shift operations, the charger supports opportunity charging between shifts, topping up partial charges safely without stressing the cells or shortening cycle life.
2. Intelligent BMS Communication Communicates with the battery management system via CAN 2.0B or RS485, reading individual cell voltages, pack temperature, state of charge, and fault status in real time. The charge current and voltage are adjusted dynamically based on live BMS data — not a fixed preset — ensuring the battery receives exactly what it needs at every stage of the cycle, from the first amp to the last.
3. Industrial IP65 Sealed Enclosure Rated IP65 as standard. Fully sealed against dust ingress and sustained water jet exposure. The die-cast aluminum housing handles operating temperatures from −20°C to +55°C, making it equally at home in a frozen fish terminal, an outdoor port yard, or a steel plant with airborne particulates. No additional weatherproofing required.
4. Advanced Thermal Management At high power levels, heat is the enemy of reliability. The MX-7280L uses a dual-stage cooling system: passive aluminum fin dissipation handles steady-state thermal load, while temperature-controlled variable-speed fans activate only when internal temperatures approach thresholds. The result is quieter operation, longer fan life, and consistent performance across a full shift.
5. Multi-Protection Safety System Nine layers of built-in protection: over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short circuit, reverse polarity, over-temperature, under-temperature, BMS communication loss, and ground fault detection. If any protection triggers, the charger halts immediately, logs the fault code, and displays a clear alert on the LCD — preventing damage to both the charger and the battery pack.
6. Large LCD Display with Data Logging A high-visibility LCD displays output voltage, current, power, state of charge, charge time elapsed, time remaining, and active fault codes. Internal data logging records the last 500 charge cycles — useful for fleet maintenance teams tracking battery health trends, warranty claims, or shift-based charging analysis.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between the 72V and 80V versions? Can one unit handle both? The 72V and 80V versions use different output voltage ranges and charging profiles. Unlike our MX-2436L which auto-detects 24V/36V, the MX-7280L is configured at the factory for either 72V or 80V — please specify your battery system voltage when ordering. If you operate a mixed fleet with both 72V and 80V systems, we recommend ordering the appropriate model for each voltage. A dual-detect 72V/80V variant is available for mixed fleets — please ask about this option when inquiring.
Q: Does this charger require three-phase power, or does it work on single-phase? Both input options are available. The MX-7280L-80 and MX-7280L-100 are available in single-phase 220V configuration. The MX-7280L-150 (12kW) requires three-phase 380V input due to the power level involved. Please confirm your site power supply when ordering and we will ship the correct input configuration.
Q: Our battery BMS uses a proprietary communication protocol. Can you support it? Yes, in most cases. We support CAN 2.0B, RS485, UART, SMBus, and a number of OEM-specific protocols used by major battery manufacturers. Please share your BMS protocol documentation or the battery manufacturer’s name and model, and our engineering team will assess compatibility. Custom protocol development is available for volume orders.
Q: How long does it take to charge a large 80V 400Ah battery pack? Using the MX-7280L-150 at 150A output, a 400Ah pack charges from 20% SOC to 100% in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. At 100A (MX-7280L-100), the same pack takes approximately 4 to 4.5 hours. Actual charge time varies depending on battery condition, ambient temperature, and BMS-imposed current limits. We recommend sharing your battery specifications for a precise calculation.
Q: Is the IP65 rating sufficient for outdoor port environments with salt air exposure? IP65 protects against dust ingress and water jets, which covers the vast majority of port environments. For extreme marine or coastal installations with prolonged salt spray exposure, we recommend additionally specifying our optional conformal coating on internal PCBs, which provides an extra barrier against corrosive environments. Please mention your installation environment when inquiring.
Q: What connector does it ship with? Our site uses a non-standard connector. The standard connector is SB350 Anderson, which is the most common connector for 72V/80V heavy industrial equipment. Custom connectors — including Delphi, Sino, DIN, and fully bespoke options — are available. For OEM integration where the charger connects to a fixed charging point rather than a plug-in cable, we can supply a bare-wire output configuration as well.
Q: What after-sales support do you provide? Every MX-7280L ships with a full installation manual, wiring diagram, and fault code reference guide. Our technical support team is available by email and WhatsApp for installation queries and fault diagnosis. For warranty claims, we ship replacement units or parts within 5 business days of claim confirmation. On-site support can be arranged for large fleet installations — please discuss this during the sales process.
