What 18.5 m Lift Means for Your Warehouse
Standard VNA turret trucks max out at 12–14 m. That fits 5 pallet tiers in most high-bay warehouses.
At 18.5 m, you get 7 tiers — two extra levels across the entire rack structure.
Real math for a 10,000 m² distribution center:
| Configuration | Pallet Positions | Building Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 14 m lift (5 tiers) | 2,400 | Baseline |
| 18.5 m lift (7 tiers) | 3,360 | Same building |
| Gain | +960 positions | $0 additional building cost |
Those 960 extra pallet positions would require roughly $500,000–$800,000 in additional building square footage if you couldn’t stack higher. The custom mast option costs a fraction of that.

Operation
Operation
Man-up design — The operator rises with the mast. At 18.5 m, you’re face-to-face with the rack, not looking up from floor level. Zero blind spots at any height.
180° fork rotation — Forks pivot left and right without turning the truck. One pass down the aisle serves both sides of the rack. No back-and-forth maneuvering.
Lateral fork shift — Forks slide side-to-side for precise pallet targeting without repositioning the truck.
OPS system (Operator Presence Sensing) — Operator must grip the acceleration handle and step on the pedal simultaneously. Release either one, the truck stops. Standard on all functions.
Drive & Power
80V full AC drive system — All three motors (drive, lift, steering) are AC. No brushes, no commutator, no rebuild at 2,000 hours. Faster response at lower current draw compared to DC systems.
80V / 560Ah battery — Higher voltage means lower amp draw for the same power output — less heat, less energy loss, longer component life. Available in lead-acid or lithium-ion.
Full-wheel electromagnetic brakes — Large-diameter load wheels with electromagnetic braking. No mechanical friction surface — braking is magnetic, not contact-based. Shorter stopping distance with zero wear.
Applications
| Use Case | Why It Works |
|---|---|
| High-bay distribution centers | Up to 18.5 m lift supports 7-tier racking. Ideal for 15,000+ pallet position DCs. |
| VNA warehouses (≤1.65 m aisles) | Doubles rack density vs standard counterbalance or reach truck operations. |
| Automotive parts distribution | Dense storage with man-up visibility for bin-level picking at height. |
| Food & beverage warehousing | Narrow aisles maximize pallet positions. Mixed pallet handling. |
| Third-party logistics (3PL) | Revenue per m² is the metric. More pallet positions in the same footprint means higher 3PL margins. |
How It Compares to a Reach Truck
| Reach Truck | MiMA MCC16-U Turret Truck | |
|---|---|---|
| Aisle width needed | 2,800–3,200 mm | 1,650 mm |
| Rows per 20 m building width | 6–7 | 12 |
| Max lift height | 8,000–12,000 mm | 12,500 mm standard / 18,500 mm custom |
| Operator position | Floor level | At rack level (man-up) |
| Fork rotation | No | 180° + lateral shift |
| Picks per hour (at 10 m+) | 8–12 | 15–22 |
Same floor area. Nearly double the pallet positions.
